MANILA, Philippines — Actress Ellen Adarna has fiercely shut down recent rumors claiming that her friend, Sarah Lahbati, played a role in the widely speculated marital issues between Adarna and her husband, Derek Ramsay.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the celebrity wife publicly addressed veteran talent manager and showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz, who had recently shared a source’s claim that Lahbati was working as a real estate agent and attempting to sell a house to the couple.

Calling Out the ‘Fake News’

Ellen Adarna directly challenged Ogie Diaz’s report by sharing a screenshot of her conversation with Sarah Lahbati. She tagged Diaz and asked for clarification regarding the alleged “fake news,” suggesting the source was unreliable.

“Mama Og… Claruhin lang natin… pag sure sa imong source. Tawang tawa kami Sarah sayo. Laro ka,” she wrote in a mix of English and Bisaya, essentially challenging Diaz to verify his information.

Adarna went on to definitively dismantle the rumors in a subsequent post. She adamantly denied the notion that Lahbati was working in real estate, emphasizing that she is financially capable of making such a purchase herself if she desired.

“If I wanted to buy a house sooo bad, bilhin ko myself (I’ll buy it myself). And—hindi house agent si Sarah. Wala sa skill set niya yan. Ano na?!! Grabe ang remix ng stories [kakaloka],” she concluded, expressing disbelief at the sensationalized and distorted narratives circulating online.

Sarah Lahbati quickly reposted Adarna’s story, adding her own amused reaction to being unexpectedly dragged into the celebrity drama. She emphasized that she was simply “minding my own business” when the story suddenly emerged.

“Every Sunday may hanash while I mind my own business hahahaha,” Lahbati wrote.

The Root of the Rumor

The actresses were reacting to a segment in Ogie Diaz’s recent vlog where he discussed the persistent rumors surrounding Derek Ramsay and Ellen Adarna’s alleged marital troubles. In the video, Diaz shared a tip from a source regarding Lahbati’s supposed involvement in a potential house sale.

“Nakarating pa sa atin no, mas magandang linawin na rin nila ito kung gaano katotoo na ang nagpupush kay Ellen or nagco-convince kay Ellen na bilihin na yung bahay ay si Sarah Lahbati. Totoo ba yun, Sarah? Pakilinaw mo ah,” Diaz stated in his vlog.

He elaborated on the source’s claims: “Parang nag-aahente daw itong si Sarah Lahbati kay Ellen na bilihin ‘yung bahay. Ibig sabihin pag naga-ahente, nagco-comission. Eh kaya lang, hindi kaya ni Derek bilihin ‘yung bahay for now.”

Diaz did maintain that his source was uncertain about the information, claiming he raised the issue in his vlog specifically to prompt a clarification from those involved. “Sinasabi pa ng source ko na hindi ko naman alam kasi sabi niya itanong mo kung gaano katotoo ito,” he added.

As of this report, Ogie Diaz has not issued an official statement or response to Ellen Adarna’s public denial and challenge. The incident underscores the pervasive nature of speculation in the local entertainment industry and the direct, often confrontational, tactics celebrities now use to combat “fake news.”
