Kris Aquino: “I miss the old me.”
Kris Aquino is currently residing in a private resort as she continues treatment for her autoimmune diseases. This was shared by her close friend and former entertainment editor, Dindo Balares, on Instagram on June 14, 2025. Dindo spent ten days with Kris at the resort, providing a rare glimpse into her life during this challenging time.

Kris’s Message to Dindo
Dindo recounted Kris’s words to him:
“Nakita mo na ang kalbaryo ko, Kuya Dindo.”
He described the moment as Kris spoke softly while he helped adjust her pillow. Their conversations during his stay were heartfelt, and with Kris’s permission, Dindo shared their moments and photos with her loyal followers.
Kris Aquino Misses Her Old Self
On June 17, Dindo posted again, sharing Kris’s reflection on missing her former self — vibrant, energetic, and full of joy.
He described a happy moment when Kris smiled watching a viral video on her phone. The clip featured Senator Ronald “Bato” de la Rosa saying,
“I am not a lawyer, nag-iisip lang. I am just guided by the Holy Spirit.”
Kris humorously added,
“I’ll wait for the Holy Spirit to guide me. Idinamay ko pa ang Holy Spirit!”
Her laughter was infectious, and they talked about her ability to laugh at herself.
What Sets Kris Apart?
Before Dindo left, Kris shared what she believes makes her unique:
“You were asking me what I believe sets me apart—it’s because I can laugh at the weirdest things that come popping out of my mouth. When you can laugh at yourself, winner ka na because having the ability to take life and all its quirks is what keeps one from getting too full of herself. My mom and dad had that. And thank God I also inherited it.”
A Bittersweet Realization
Dindo shared a bittersweet part of their conversation:
“I read the comment of the one who posted Sen. Bato and interspersed it with me saying I’ll wait for the Holy Spirit to guide me. The one who uploaded said: Nakaka-miss si Krisy. Tinamaan ako, kuya Dindo. People do not realize how much I miss the old me… But I am human and it hurts so much.”
Kris Aquino’s journey is one of courage, humor, and vulnerability. Though she misses the old version of herself, her spirit remains resilient, finding strength in laughter and the love of those around her.
