Liza Soberano on breakup with Enrique Gil: “Quen and I have decided to separate ways. That is because our values and the way we see life doesn’t align anymore, because of the whole change that I went through last year.”

Makalipas ang mahigit dalawang taon, napanood na sa Fast Talk with Boy Abunda ang hindi naiereng bahagi ng eksklusibong panayam ni Boy Abunda kay Liza Soberano tungkol sa paghihiwalay nila ni Enrique Gil.

Ito ay matapos isapubliko ni Liza ang kinahantungan ng halos walong taon nilang relasyon ni Enrique sa episode ng Can I Come In podcast noong August 14, 2025.

Pagtatapat dito ni Liza, mahigit tatlong taon na silang break ng aktor.

Tumutugma ito sa naunang ulat noong December 2023 ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na October 2022 pa hiwalay ang couple.

Nakiusap lang ang dalawa kay Boy na huwag ilabas ang rebelasyon na ito ni Liza.

Iginalang naman ni Boy ang pakiusap nila kaya nagkaroon ng mga pagdududa ang kanilang fans na walang katotohanan ang balitang nagwakas na ang relasyon nina Liza at Enrique.

Naganap ang panayam ni Boy kay Liza noong March 7, 2023.

Bago ipalabas ang unreleased clip ay ibinahagi muna ni Boy na matapos umamin ni Liza ay nakiusap ang aktres na huwag ilabas ang kanyang rebelasyon dahil hindi pa raw handa si Enrique na ito’y isapubliko.

Lahad ni Boy: “Liza and I were in touch a few times, and also with Quen’s [Enrique] representation.

“Iginalang namin ang request nila na hindi ipalabas ang interview kahit umiikot na noon ang mga speculation na hiwalay na sila. We stood by our possesion until Liza’s revelation last week.

“And because of that recent revelation, naniniwala kami na napapanahon na para mapanood ang twelve-minute portion ng aking interview with Liza tungkol sa breakup nila ni Quen.”

Kinonsulta raw ni Boy ang kanilang lawyer para sa pagpapalabas sa nasabing unreleased video clip.

Dito ay binigyan siya ng go signal na maaari na itong iere matapos aminin ni Liza sa podcast ang lahat.

Ang pag-amin ni Liza sa kinahantungan ng relasyon nila ni Enrique ay nangyari nang matanong siya ni Boy kung nasaan ang aktor noong mga panahong nahaharap siya sa kontrobersiya.

May kaugnayan ito sa hindi pagkakaunawaan noon ng akres at ng dating manager niyang si Ogie Diaz.

Tanong noon ni Boy kay Liza: “This is very difficult question to ask because ang daming nangyayari sa buhay mo.

“I think this is the most exciting points of your life, very challenging, you know, you’re controversial…

“And the question in people’s mind, I think the elephant in the room is, ‘Nasaan si Quen, nasaan si Enrique Gil? Why isn’t he saying anything?’

“That leads me to this very difficult question: Is he still present in your life, kayo pa ba ni Quen?”

Hindi agad nakasagot ni Liza na sandaling napayuko at napahinto.

Bakas sa kanyang mukha at boses ang pagiging emosyunal nang sabihing: “Quen and I have decided to separate ways.

“That is because our values and the way we see life doesn’t align anymore, because of the whole change that I went through last year.

“We decided that it was just easier to separate ways and find ourselves first — to kind of explore before we take it to the next level.

“Because we were in a relationship for a long time, almost eight years, before we broke up.”

Pagbabahagi ni Liza, sa tagal ng kanilang relasyon ay madalas daw silang matanong kung kailan sila lalagay sa tahimik o magpapakasal.

Dito na raw napaisip si Liza kung handa na siya para rito dahil noong mga panahong iyon ay marami pa raw siyang gustong gawin at marating mag-isa.

Saad niya: “I came to a point where I didn’t know if that’s what I wanted anymore, honestly, because there’s so much more that I still want to achieve.

“And he’s older than me, he’s in his 30s. Of course, he’s thinking about settling down, starting a family.

“And so, it just doesn’t line up anymore.”

Sagot ni Liza, “Yes. He has consistently been doing that.”

Ipinaliwanag din ni Liza kung bakit hindi nila nagawa ni Enrique na isapubliko agad ang kanilang paghihiwalay.

Aniya, naging mahirap sa kanila parehas na tanggapin ang kinahantungan ng kanilang pagmamahalan.

Dagdag pa raw ritong natakot si Liza sa posibleng sabihin ng iba at mangyayari sa kanyang showbiz career kung saka-sakaling malaman ng kanilang fans na sila’y hiwalay na.

Mangiyak-ngiyak na lahad ng aktres: “It’s hard. My identity is so attached to him and my loveteam.

“Siyempre, takot po ako. My whole family and his family, we’re like one big family already.

“My friends are his friends.

“My whole world basically revolved around him from my career.

“And our personal lives, and so it’s scary to come forward because it’s such a big change in our life.

Dumating naman daw sa puntong nagkalakas-loob na si Liza na ito ianunsiyo, ngunit si Enrique naman daw ang hindi handa.

Pagbabalik-tanaw niya: “It came to a point where I wanted to start talking about it, but he wasn’t comfortable with it either because that’s just the type of person he is.

“He’s very private, everybody knows that about him. He doesn’t post much on social media, and that’s okay.

“So, out of respect for one another, we decided not to talk about it till both of us are ready to come forward with it.”

Aniya: “I would say sorry to him for, you know, last year was a tough year for me, both of us. It was a huge changing point in both of our lives.

“I started wanting change for myself professionally and also I wanted change for myself in my personal life.

“I wanted to start creating healthy boundaries between my family, my friends, people in my personal life, because before that, I honestly didn’t have any.

“And he has a better understanding of that.

“While I was looking for myself, I didn’t realize that he was also just as lost and so there was a lot of miscommunication that went on.

“I feel like I should say sorry for not being as understanding or being able to see his struggles, because I was struggling at the same time too.”

Liza Soberano admits that she was scared to announce the breakup as her “world basically revolved around Enrique Gil.”
