According to Xports News, Hyundai Card CEO and Vice President Chung Tae Young, a big name in the Korean performance industry, expressed his disappointment at missing out on the opportunity to bring world-famous pop star Taylor Swift to Korea.
Previously, Chung Tae Young was the one who brought many famous international artists to Korea to perform, most recently Bruno Mars.
Recently, Vice President Chung shared a post titled: “Taylor Swift’s concert at Tokyo Dome”.

Accordingly, Chung Tae Young described the atmosphere at Tokyo Dome during the concert: “I went around various areas at the Taylor Swift concert venue at Tokyo Dome to see how it was set up.
It was a bustling scene with many attendees moving around, as each song had a different stage set up. In particular, it was the first time I witnessed a stage with two bands on each side, creating a charming mirror image effect.”
Taylor Swift debuted in 2006. She embarked on her first world tour after releasing her second album “Fearless” in 2009. In February 2011, to celebrate the release of her third album, “Speak Now,” she also held a concert in Korea at the KSPO Dome.
However, Taylor Swift was not widely recognized in Korea at the time, which made her “Speak Now” tour in Korea the only concert that did not sell out.
About 4,725 people attended Taylor’s concert at the KSPO Dome, which has a capacity of 15,000. She went largely unnoticed, even when riding the Seoul subway, very few people recognized her.

Since then, Taylor Swift has performed five world tours, but no subsequent performances have taken place in Korea.
Specifically, “The Eras Tour” is held from March 2023 to December this year, including 52 performances in the United States alone and is expected to have a total of 151 performances worldwide…, but without Korea.
In Asia, Taylor Swift successfully held 4 consecutive “sold-out” shows at Tokyo Dome (Japan) on February 7-10.
Currently, Taylor Swift is performing the biggest shows of her career, welcoming 96,000 audiences each night, in Melbourne (Australia), from February 16-18.
Next, the female artist will hold 4 shows in Sydney (Australia), from February 23-26; and 6 shows at the Singapore National Stadium, on March 2-3 and March 7-9. However, Korea is completely absent from the schedule.

The absence was due to a number of challenges, such as ongoing renovations at the Jamsil Olympic Main Stadium – the only venue in the region that could host a concert of Taylor’s “super-sized” size, with a capacity of 70,000 people. In addition, other potential venues such as the Gocheok Sky Dome and the Seoul World Cup Stadium were also unable to book seats.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” is the highest-grossing tour of all time and the first tour in history to surpass the $1 billion mark in revenue.
Notably, when Canada was excluded from the list of tour countries, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau cited Swift’s lyrics on his personal account to attract the tour.
Furthermore, heads of state or parliamentarians from many countries such as Chile, Thailand, Hungary and Argentina have actively promoted the tour, proving its global appeal.
