Taylor Swift released a new collection of merchandise on her website that fans think is a not-so-subtle nod to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
The 34-year-old’s new collection’s name — Greatest in the League” — was inspired by a line from Swift’s song, “The Alchemy,” which is believed by fans to be about her relationship with Kelce, 34. The drop also happens to land on October 3, which is National Boyfriend Day, sending fans into a spiral about the meaning behind it all. Some fans were quick to speak on what they believe to be the deeper meaning behind the release on X (formerly Twitter), with one fan saying, “But people will still say the alchemy is not about Travis.” Another added, “Literally only Taylor would release a ‘greatest in the league’ collection on National BF day when her BF’s team is 4-0 currently.” Another chimed in, saying, “Released on National Boyfriends Day…coincidence, I think not!”
Despite reactions to the drop being generally positive, there are a few fans that actually disagree. One posted a response to the new drop, saying, “once again reducing her to her boyfrienddddddd when will yall realize the alchemy is about HER being the greatest in the league.” Another added, “not the ‘the alchemy is about a person’ propaganda again THAT SONG IS SO GOOD AND MEANINGFUL FOR US AS FANS AND Y’ALL WANT TO JUST HAND IT OVER TO A GUY???” Another frustrated fan was short and concise, saying, “Stop ruining it.”
The “Fortnight” singer sparked concern among fans with her absence from the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s last two football games. Fans noticed that she missed both the game against the Atlanta Falcons on September 22, and the game against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 29. While Swift did miss two games, she made sure she was there for Kelce at both home games at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Now, the new merchandise drop may confirm that the power couple is still going strong.
