The Los Angeles Clippers secured a 116-105 victory against the Utah Jazz on Sunday night at the Intuit Dome. This victory represents the Clippers’ seventh win of the ongoing 2024-25 NBA season. Additionally, the game witnessed a historic achievement as James Harden surpassed the milestones set by a renowned NBA legend.

Harden accomplished a significant milestone by making a three-pointer in the first quarter, elevating him to second place on the all-time three-point leaderboard. With this remarkable feat, he now totals 2,975 three-pointers, surpassing the legendary Ray Allen, who holds the third position with 2,973 three-pointers.

Kevin Durant assisted Harden with his first three-pointer during the 2009 NBA season when they were teammates. Recently, while revisiting footage of that unforgettable play, Durant congratulated Harden for his remarkable achievement.

“Man, first 3-pointer in the league. Congrats JH on reaching an amazing accomplishment. All the work that you put in has paid off. You inspire so many people around the world with how you play. Been a great teammate, a great friend. I love you brother, keep grinding.” Durant said.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry currently ranks as the leading player ahead of Harden on the all-time three-point leaders list. Regarded by many as the finest shooter in NBA history, Curry boasts an impressive total of 3,782 career three-pointers.

James Harden Reacts To KD’s Heartfelt Words

During a post-game press conference, Harden expressed his feelings about ranking second on the all-time three-pointer leader list. He emphasized his desire to inspire young people and anyone pursuing their dreams of playing professional basketball. Furthermore, when a reporter referenced Durant’s touching message, Harden reflected on their time as teammates.

“Longevity, man. They set the blueprint. When I got there (Oklahoma City Thunder) they had the blueprint of how to work, how to be a professional in this league. So all I did was just fall right in line… Those three years really helped me in my NBA career because it just gave me a ground base to where I can go off of.” Harden said.

Harden is averaging 20.6 points, 8.5 assists, and 7.9 rebounds this season. If the Beard maintains this level of play, he has the potential to enhance the Clippers’ standing in the league significantly.
