The Minnesota Timberwolves made news with their recent trade of Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks. After spending nine seasons with the Timberwolves, Towns bid farewell to his team with an emotional message.

Among the many moments Towns experienced with the Timberwolves, one incident that stands out is when Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors put Rudy Gobert in a chokehold during a game last season.

During his appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, Towns vividly recalled the altercation. He shared how quickly the situation occurred, also describing how he saw Green grab Gobert.

That situation happened so fast I’m seeing Draymond do something to Rudy, and I’m trying to pull [him] off, and I’m like, ‘What are we gonna have a triple nelson going on?’” KAT said.

The incident began when Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels got into a scuffle. Gobert stepped in to separate the two, but Draymond Green wasn’t too happy with his involvement. Green came from behind and grabbed Gobert by the neck in an aggressive chokehold. That’s when Towns jumped in, trying to break things up.

Later, Thompson, McDaniels, and Green were all ejected from the game. Towns and Gobert, on the other hand, were spared, as their actions were seen as attempts to deescalate the situation.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the possibility of seeing Karl-Anthony Towns make his debut with the team. Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau expressed his optimism regarding Towns’ availability after the final training camp practice on Saturday.

Yeah, we’ll talk to medical first and see where he is. I think he wants to play, and he’s been going full tilt. So we’ll see where he is after today,” Thibodeau said.

As the Knicks look to make a strong start to the season, all eyes will be on whether Towns will be part of the action in Charlotte.
