Jordan Poole and Draymond Green had a strained relationship following the punching incident during practice before the 2022-23 season. Green punched Poole, resulting in considerable tension between them. Although the Golden State Warriors traded Poole last season, their animosity toward each other is still apparent.
Green faced off against Poole on Monday in a recent matchup between the Warriors and the Wizards. The two stars did not miss the chance to tease each other during the game, which entertained the crowd at Capital One Arena. There was a notable taunting incident between Green and Poole that added to the excitement of the event.
The incident began when Wizards rookie Carlton Carrington exchanged words with a four-time NBA Champion. Later, Poole intervened to stop the conversation.
A fan sitting courtside captured the incident and posted the video on her X (formerly Twitter) account. In the caption, she wrote, “Jordan Poole leading, and I love it! Bye, Draymond, get away.” In the video, Green appears upset as Poole interrupts the conversation. Meanwhile, Carrington looks curious about the behavior of the two rivals.
Green Stuns Fans With His Perspective On Jordan Poole
At the end of the second quarter, Poole made a deep three-pointer and pointed at Green. Later, star player Stephen Curry hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer, and Green pointed back at Poole, who attempted to block the shot.
After all the taunting, fans were anticipating a controversial statement from the rivals. However, the opposite occurred when Green praised Poole during the post-game press conference. The four-time NBA champion highlighted that Poole is performing significantly better this season.
“I think it was a matter of [Poole] wanting it so bad to prove to people that ‘I can have my own team,’ that ‘I can come here and be successful.’ I think he’s doing a really good job of settling in now and letting the game come to him.” Green said.
The intense rivalry between Green and Poole entertained fans. Enthusiasts are eager to see more heated moments from these rivals in the upcoming games.
