But alas! It was once again heartbreaking for the Nuggets’ fans when they faltered against the Knicks. Thankfully, Jokic and his team came back to their element as the Nuggets crushed the Utah Jazz to claim a 122-103 victory. Expectedly, behind the impressive victory was none other than superstar Nikola Jokic.
The Serbian center single-handedly took the game away from the Jazz. And in the midst of all these, there was a hilarious moment between Jokic and Utah Jazz’s Walker Kessler. At one point in the game, Kessler attempted to do a fist bump with Jokic. However, after waiting for a fairly long time, Jokic ignored Kessler and got busy with the play. While this was a light-hearted moment, Jokic’s razor-focused mentality was reflected in his performance.
Jokic dropped 30 points, seven assists, and 10 rebounds to make sure that the Jazz could not catch up. Impressively, Jokic scored 19 of his points on 8 of 10 shooting. This enabled the Nuggets to make an incredible comeback in the first quarter to help recover from a 12-point deficit. While the interaction with Kessler was surely a fun one, Jokic’s reaction to the referee a few games back certainly wasn’t.
Nikola Jokic Lost His Cool On The Referee Against The Mavericks
Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets suffered yet another frustrating defeat against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. Having been humbled 120-123, tempers flared as Jokic lost his cool on the referee. At one point during the game, Jokic attempted a basket when he was challenged from behind.
Such a hard challenge made Jokic lose his balance, and he crashed to the ground. To his utter surprise, the referee did not call foul play. Enraged at the entire situation, Jokic immediately went to the referee and started to argue aggressively. After being animated for a while, things cooled off, and the situation did not escalate further.
