Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks haven’t scored a goal yet tonight, despite their best effort.

However, the 2nd period of the game saw an accident that led to former 1st round pick Jordan Eberle being carried off the ice by Kraken staff.

He and defenseman Connor Murphy would trip and succumb to a brutal collision into the boards.

Murphy would walk away after the brutal incident, which saw Eberle walk off the ice, with Justin Rogers of the Kraken to help.

There’s been no update on Eberle’s status as of yet, but whatever happened it didn’t look good for either play.

The injury occurred 17 seconds into the start of the 2nd period tonight.

Jordan Eberle

Matty Beniers would follow up afterward with a goal on Petr Mrazek.

Eberle was named Captain of the Seattle Kraken on October 8th, 2024 and this is his fourth season playing with the Kraken, after being exposed during the expansion draft by the New York Islanders in 2021.

He’d replace former Captain Mark Giordano who’d find his way onto the roster of the Toronto Maple Leafs after his time in the Pacific Northwest was done.

“I was pretty honored,” Eberle said after the loss. “To be a captain in this league is special. I’d like to think our group, we have a lot of good leaders. We’ve had a lot of guys who have Cups, guys who have playoff experience. To be a part of this group is special and to be named [captain], I mean, my family and I love this city, we love the culture here, and it’s a big part of why we wanted to be here.”

We hope for the best for our fellow competitors, as the situation for Eberle looks rough.
