The Utah Hockey Club have been wheeling and dealing in their first off-season, and now they’ve swung a deal to land a 6-foot-3 winger from Ottawa.

After making some blockbuster deals and free agency signings, a strong off-season continues for the Utah Hockey Club, as they’ve now landed a big time winger from the Ottawa Senators. Standing at 6-foot-3, Egor Sokolov isn’t the most experienced winger, but with age on his side (23), as well as his incredible size, this could be a low-risk, high-reward move for Utah.

The #sens acquire Jan Jenik from Utah HC for Egor Sokolov.

In three full seasons with the Belleville Senators, Sokolov has put together some impressive years tallying 19, 21 and 21 goals, but in the NHL he has just 13 games of experience, netting one goal and one assist over that time.

In exchange, Ottawa land Jan Jenik, who also has some bright potential, and with both players being 23-years of age, it’s safe to say that this is a low risk deal for both parties that could work out well for both sides.
