NFL fans are losing their minds over a clip of Aaron Rodgers dropping a gem of a 50-yard bomb with the simple flick of a wrist during a joint practice with the New York Giants.
Aaron Rodgers and the Jets went up against the Giants in a practice session ahead of their preseason clash on Saturday, the final exhibition game for both clubs before they finalize their 53-man rosters.
During Wednesday’s session, Rodgers delivered a vintage A-Rod throw and dropped a 50-yard bomb with the simple flick of a wrist and into the hands of wide receiver Garrett Wilson for a touchdown:
This jaw-dropping and internet-breaking throw from Aaron Rodgers left social media speechless:
Rodgers was traded to the Jets ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft following an 18-year career with the Green Bay Packers. There was plenty of hype around Rodgers’ arrival in the Big Apple, but the party turned sour when he suffered a season-ending Achilles tear minutes into his Jets debut vs. the Buffalo Bills last year.
The Jets limped to a 7-10 finish without their new star quarterback, having once again been held back by woeful quarterback play. But finally, after a long one-year wait, Rodgers is healthy and set to finally complete a full season with his new team.
Aaron Rodgers Makes The Jets Super Bowl Contenders
In some ways, it’s impressive that the Jets won three games last year with Zach Wilson, Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian. Their elite defense, Garrett Wilson and star running back Breece Hall kept the Jets competitive throughout the first half until the woeful quarterback performances finally caught up to them.
But with Rodgers leading the way, the Jets are a prime Super Bowl contender. He is loaded with weapons (Wilson, Breece Hall, Allen Lazard and Mike Williams) and supported by a rebuilt o-line that added prized rookie Olu Fashanu, future Hall of Famer Tyron Smith and veterans John Simpson and Morgan Moses.
Throw in their stingy defense, and the pieces are there for the Jets to make a run at the Lombardi Trophy once and for all.
