As the NBA wraps up its investigation into Joel Embiid’s confrontation with a reporter in the locker room this weekend, he will receive a three-game suspension. Shams Charania announced Embiid’s ban, and since he is already battling an ailment, he is expected to miss more time than the suspension.
Since the beginning of the season, the Philadelphia 76ers organization has received many reprimands. The NBA also examined how the 76ers reported Joel Embiid’s ailment and availability. They were found to have violated the league’s injury reporting regulation and were fined $100,000.
Embiid fought with a Philadelphia Inquirer journalist who had previously made fun of Joel Embiid while mentioning his late sibling and young kid. He then gave the reporter a severe and frightening warning: if he mentioned any of his family members again, he would have to take drastic actions and face the repercussions.
The team’s president and general manager did not support Embiid, denouncing his inappropriate incident with the journalist. However, many people think that even though Embiid became quite aggressive, he had every right to voice his grievances with the journalist, who used his family members in a critical essay.
When Will Joel Embiid Be Back In Action?
On Wednesday, Joel Embiid will not play for the Philadelphia 76ers against the Los Angeles Clippers. The NBA has banned the former MVP after he got into a fight with a reporter. In response to a story that questioned the former MVP’s professionalism, Embiid allegedly attacked and assaulted the writer.
The timing of Joel Embiid’s 2024–25 season debut couldn’t be more appropriate. After completing his three-game ban, he may play his first game on Tuesday against the New York Knicks. Last season, Embiid played his final game for his club in Game 6 of the first round of the playoffs against their opponents.
Joel Embiid has not played in the 2024–25 season because of knee pain but has been cleared to play. Due to the ban, he will miss Friday’s game against the LA Lakers and Sunday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets.
