A major change has been made to Taylor Swift’s Cardiff show ahead of it taking place this evening, with fans now abuzz with excitement.

The 34-year-old hitmaker is tonight bringing her Eras Tour to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium for one night only. This show in Wales comes ahead of her trio of London shows later this week and after a string of stunning performances in Edinburgh and Liverpool.

But there is one major change being made to the singer’s show in Wales, which is something that has not and will not be at any of the other London performances. And it’s safe to say that fans are overjoyed about the massive change.

Fans have already started to queue outside the Principality Stadium in order to secure the best spot in the standing sections, with one fan making a huge observation. There is chatter that the roof of the stadium has been closed, which has been confirmed on the stadium’s fan guide for a while, meaning there will be no fireworks at the end of the show.

But all is not lost, as many fans are rejoicing over the fact that they get to see the show in darkness, with them able to enjoy the visuals fully. One fan asked someone who posted about being in the queue: “is the roof gonna be shut? does that mean they’ll be no fireworks or fire?” to which the original poster said: “Roof is closed. No fireworks. But show will be in the dark I think!!”

Other fans have also started to get excited amid the huge change, with one person taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say: “Omg the roof is gonna be closed it’s gonna be a dark show yessssss.” Another said: “GUYS IM SO EXCITED THAT THE ROOF WILL BE CLOSED FOR CARDIFF.” While a third penned: “learned that the roof will be closed for cardiff aka no bright ass sunlight during folkmore thank GOD.”

But not everyone is excited, with some annoyed that there will be no fire or fireworks, and others warning Cardiff fans who didn’t get tickets that due to the roof being closed, they won’t be able to hear anything if they gather outside the venue.

One person said: “i’m so sad cardiff aren’t gonna get fireworks because the roof is closed.” While a second said: “Good morning everyone Cardiff @principalitysta have confirmed that the roof for @taylorswift13 #erastourcardiff will be closed people who have got NO tickets will not hear anything as they will shut the roof.”

viagogo and resale tickets

Sites such as Viagogo and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs.

Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale – such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation – to ensure a smooth live event experience. Tickets could be voided if they were found to be bought second-hand. As a result, fans are buying at their own risk.

With that said, viagogo also commented: “viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the guarantee.”
