There was no doubting pop superstar Taylor Swift’s pride towards the achievements of boyfriend Travis Kelce after the Kansas City Chiefs icon was nominate for a coveted NFL award
Pop superstar Taylor Swift showed her pride as boyfriend Travis Kelce was nominated for a coveted NFL prize – demonstrating her joy with a subtle nod of approval on social media.
The chart-topper has been a regular devotee in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium ever since going public with her romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end beau. After embarking on a relationship with the football star last September, Swift has attended several of his games so far this season.
Having been present to see the Chiefs win a third Super Bowl in just five years in February, the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker will be fully aware of the extent of her boyfriend’s talents. Now, Kelce’s sterling efforts for his beloved team have been rewarded as he received a nomination for the illustrious Walter Payton Man of the Year award.
After the Chiefs marked the tight end’s nomination on Instagram, Swift was among those who showed their appreciation -liking the post. Her show of pride at her boyfriend’s achievement went down well with fans too, as one enthusiast commented: “Omg Taylor liked this,” while another added: “Sobbing Taylor liked this aw.”
Stars including Jared Goff, Orlando Brown Jr. and Mike Evans have also received a nomination for the prize, with the winner set to be announced during the NFL Honors ceremony on Feb. 6. Meanwhile, Kelce later took to social media too to express his personal gratitude after being nominated for the award.
The KC fan favorite was nominated back in 2020 too, with the gong issued to a player from the NFL’s 32 teams who has demonstrated “excellence on and off the field”. Describing what it meant to him to be nominated, he said: “I’m truly honored to be nominated as the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.

“This organization and this city mean so much to me and to have the Chiefs nominate me again is special,” he continued, as he looked back over his own journey to this point. “Growing up in Cleveland Heights with supportive family and friends, I know the power of having people in your corner.
“It’s been incredible to be able to work towards providing that same support and inspiration to kids through Eighty-Seven & Running and our work with Operation Breakthrough and the Ignition Lab. To see the inaugural class from the Ignition Lab getting ready to graduate is so special and something that I’ll cherish forever.”
He added: “I know how valuable hope and purpose is in those high school years, and these kids have really seized the opportunity. Being able to give back to the community here in Kansas City as well as show love to my hometown is not something I’ll ever take for granted.”
