Sports analyst Jason Whitlock’s comments on the ‘disconnect’ with Angel Reese over her stance on COVID-19 vaccination have come under fire. Whitlock, who took a public stance against getting vaccinated, isn’t a fan of Reese doing the opposite. After the Sky star revealed on her podcast that she took the vaccines, Whitlock sounded off on X.
“Angel Reese proudly states she’s “vaccinated, boosted, and can’t wait for the next one to come out,”” Whitlock tweeted on Friday. “I now understand our disconnect. She has accepted all the programming.”
Whitlock refused to take the vaccine as his belief lay in ‘god’s design,’ persuading him that his immune system was enough to withstand a disease like COVID-19.
However, Reese’s fans weren’t impressed with him throwing shade at the former LSU star because of this reason. Her supporters rallied behind Reese by reacting to a resurfaced video of rival Caitlin Clark encouraging people to get vaccinated. Here’s what Clark said in the 2021 video:
“As we start this fall semester and fall sports season, I just want to encourage you all to go get your vaccination. We want to keep everybody safe and healthy and keep playing in front of all of you.”
The fans used this video to clap back at Whitlock, who has often preferred Clark over Reese.
“Caitlin Clark encourages others to get VACCINATED,” one fan said.
“Lmao lol see how the tables Turn lol,” one fan wrote.
“That fat pos not going to acknowledge this,” another added.
“@WhitlockJason your dumba** gonna speak on this to or just Angel my guess is Angel,” one fan said.
“Whitlock is out here doggin out Angel Reese for her take on COVID, but Caitlin told the entire Hawkeye Nation to go get that jab too, big fella,” a fan wrote.
“Good! Smart people know that’s the thing to do,” another said.
Angel Reese blames Caitlin Clark’s fanbase for receiving hate comments

The Angel Reese-Caitlin Clark debate has been a polarizing topic, especially among their fanbases. Both players have been subject to hate and criticism for various reasons. However, Reese thinks her issues are primarily because of Clark’s fan base and not the Fever star herself.
While discussing the rivalry with Clark on her newly released podcast, “Unapologetically Angel,” Reese shared her thoughts on this, blaming Caitlin’s fanbase for the hate she has gotten, including racist comments, death threats and explicit images.
“I think it’s really just the fans — her [Caitlin’s] fans, the Iowa fans, now the Indiana fans — that are, like, they ride for her and I respect that, respectfully, but sometimes it’s very disrespectful. I think there’s a lot of racism when it comes to it and I don’t believe she stands on any of that,” Reese said.
“But when it comes to death threats, like, I’m talking about people have come down to my address, following me home, it’s come down to that. Multiple occasions, people have made AI pictures of me naked, literally. They have sent it to my family members.”
Reese maintained she understands Clark doesn’t stand for anything her fans allegedly are doing.
