The LA Lakers signed Quincy Olivari to a two-way contract. The news was reported by NBA Insider Shams Charania on X. Given how the 2024 draft night went for him, Olivari was left elated.
The Lakers rookie was thrilled after making the roster for the 2024-25 season. He reposted Charania’s post on X and thanked God, with much relief and excitement.

The last few weeks have been a ride to remember for Quincy Olivari. Earlier, he left the internet smiling after he was seen clicking a selfie with LeBron James. But the best was yet to come for the Lakers rookie.
In the preseason Lakers game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Olivari was one of the key factors in the Lakers’ comeback win. He scored 11 points in just 9 minutes.
In the Lakers’ final preseason game against the Golden State Warriors, Olivari got his first start. He made the most of it, and scored 22 points, shooting effectively from the field. He converted 8 of his 16 shots from the field and 5 of his 9 3-point shots from beyond the arc.
While there is no certainty with Olivari getting a spot in coach JJ Redick’s rotation, this is definitely good news to celebrate for a player who went undrafted.
LeBron James congratulates Quincy Olivari after Lakers sign the rookie

LeBron James has always held that watching young players being successful is a pure joy for him. Quincy Olivari is the latest addition in the tale of never-say-never in the NBA and the Lakers superstar is loving it.
James took to his social media to congratulate his rookie teammate after signing with the team. He reposted a post by the Lakers on his IG story.

Quincy Olivari is the latest example that draft night is not the entire story for a rookie in the NBA. The former Xavier star played for the Lakers in the 2024 NBA Summer League and made the preseason roster before signing the deal with the team.
The guard from Xavier is an excellent 3-point shooter and can be a big factor if Redick is focused on developing him for the regular season. He was one of the best 3-point shooters in college basketball.
In preseason games, he has shown that he can become an option for the Lakers. In four games that Quincy Olivari appeared in the preseason, he took 14 3-point shots and converted 8 of them.
