The New York Rangers struggles have continued as they take an embarrassing 5-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Monday night.

Back on Saturday afternoon, the New York Rangers managed to put an end to their five-game losing streak and it seemed like the team was finally going to turn things around.

Unfortunately, that was not the case as the Devils managed to score two goals within just ten minutes into the first period, which set the tone for the remainder of the night.

Despite the Rangers puck possession time and recorded 39 shots on net, they failed to play with any urgency on the defensive side, which cost them several costly mistakes.

Following the game head coach Peter’s Laviolette faced the media and issued an unexpected statement about the Rangers as a team:

“We gotta win hockey games. We’re a good hockey team. Right now, we’re not playing very good hockey. We need to be better and those are things that are in our control. Those answers are in the room. Those are the answers that we need to figure out as a group”

– Peter Laviolette

Definitely going to be tough to figure out these issues as a group, after Chris Drury reveals that their veteran players and their captain are on the trade block.

In the aftermath of their 6-2 loss in Edmonton on Saturday, the Rangers have made it very clear they are interested in making moves and shaking up their roster.

Among the names indicated are Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba, although other options will be considered.

Causing a bunch of unwanted and unneeded stress to the players of the organization. Hopefully the Rangers core can figure out a way to turn things around and bring the morale back in the locker room.
