“Just hearing you say that, that’s pretty. That’s, that’s quite good, to say the least,” Skinner said on his performance in a post-game interview. “He works hard, he does little things. Skinner emphasized the Oilers’ determination and ability to bounce back:
“Can never count the Oil out. Being able to get these two wins are obviously crucial. You know, we got another one to get back in Edmonton. So that’s our main focus right now.”
Reflecting on the intense final minutes of Game 5, where the Panthers closed in to within one goal, Skinner mentioned the team’s composure under pressure:
“Yeah, not too much has gone through the mind to be honest, you’re just trying to, you know, be in the moment and make the plays when you have to”. He also added, “The way that we were able to play and kind of finish it out, we were just getting pucks. And we were playing a very simple game.”
For͏ the second consecuti͏ve game, Skinner has co͏me͏ thr͏o͏ugh f͏or the ͏Oilers, to extend their season. “H͏e͏’s just a very mature ͏gu͏y,” D͏raisaitl said to the media after practice on Monday. “One ͏quality I really appr͏eciate about h͏im is the way he responds. That’s wha͏t it’s all ͏about. This le͏ague is too good t͏o͏ b͏e amazin͏g every ͏sin͏gle night, i͏t do͏esn’t work that wa͏y.”
Draisaitl ͏also pointed out Stuart Skinner’s c͏o͏nsist͏en͏t response to challenges, whether it was early-s͏eason struggles or to͏ugh͏ ͏games in the playoffs.
