On Monday, December 9, it was confirmed that Mark Withers, an actor in television series such as ‘Dynasty’, ‘Stranger Things’, ‘Dallas’ and ‘Remington Steele’, had passed away. His daughter, Jessie Withers, was in charge of communicating the death, although it actually occurred on November 22, due to pancreatic cancer that he suffered during his last months.

“She approached her illness with the same strength and dignity she brought to her craft, creating a legacy of warmth, humour and dedication, along with her remarkable ability to make every role unforgettable,” her eldest daughter told Variety, the US media outlet specialising in the film industry.

His daughter Jessie Withers hopes that “Mark’s enduring talent and commitment to the industry will be fondly remembered by colleagues, friends and fans alike”. At 77 years of age, the veteran actor’s last few months had been quite complicated by the increasingly severe damage he had suffered to his pancreas.

His career began with a commercial for McDonald’s. From this spot, he was discovered by an agent and his name began to be linked with several major brands: Folger’s Coffee, Crest and American Airlines.In the last years of his career, he has been involved in successful series such as ‘Castle’, ‘Sense 8’ or ‘Criminal Minds’. Although most of his fans remember him for the role of forensic scientist Gary, with which he managed to connect with younger generations who had not seen the original series ‘Dynasty’.
