Celeste Desjardins celebrated Leon Draisaitl’s new $112M contract
Leon Draisaitl has signed an eight-year, $112 million contract with the Edmonton Oilers. Announced on September 3, 2024, this deal will keep him with the team until the end of the 2032-33 season, when he will be 37 years old.
Draisaitl is in the last year of a previous $68 million deal. He shared his excitement on Instagram and talked about his pride in being an Oiler.
“Loyal to the OIL,” he captioned the post.
His fiancée, Celeste Desjardins, also celebrated the new contract and shared via her Instagram story.
“So incredibly proud of you baby. I’ve watched you pour so much love and hard work in everything you do. Your commitment and passion for the game is unmatched. I can’t wait to see what the next 8 years has in store for you.”
“So happy to be on this journey with you and get the privilege to call Edmonton home for the next 8 years. We have created such a beautiful life there with an incredible community and I’m so excited to watch all your greatness continue there. I know how much this city and this team means to you. Keep going my love! Ich liebe dich. Let’s go Oilers!,” she wrote.
Last season, Leon Draisaitl ranked seventh in NHL points and was crucial in the Oilers’ Stanley Cup Final run, where they lost to the Florida Panthers in Game 7.
Since joining the Oilers in 2014, Leon Draisaitl has been a standout player. He has helped the team make the playoffs consistently and won the Art Ross Trophy in 2020. He remains focused on winning the Stanley Cup and plans to keep contributing to the Oilers’ success.
