The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Sydney in 2018, just five months after their wedding
King Charles and Queen Camilla recreated one of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s iconic photos as they visited the Sydney Opera House on the final day in Australia.
The royal couple walked side by side down the steps from the world-famous landmark to greet thousands of fans waiting.
The photos of the King and Queen echoed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex when they visited Sydney in 2018, just five months after their wedding.
Royal commentator Ingrid Seward described the 2018 visit as the high point of Meghan’s time as a working royal.

She said: “It was a monumental trip when Harry and Meghan went in 2018, and Meghan announced her pregnancy when she was there.
“When the late Queen looked at it she thought, my goodness, we really have got two young people here who are going to be so beneficial for the Commonwealth.”
Seward said that the experience was an “eye-opener” for Meghan and that it started her thoughts about stepping back as a working royal.
She explained: “She enjoyed playing the part of the princess as she saw it. But I also think it was a bit of a shock.

The royals met with the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency The Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, the Chief of the Defence Force, Admiral David Johnston AC RAN.
“She was being told what to do. She was being told where to go, and she was being told how to do it.”
The Duchess of Sussex descended the staircase in a camel trench coat over a white pencil dress designed by Australian Karen Gee, while Harry wore his navy suit jacket open with a white open-collar shirt.
Queen Camilla was dressed in a white silk dress by Fiona Clare with black piping and a brooch gifted by the Royal Australian Corps of Military Police (RACMP), of which the Queen is the regiment’s Colonel.
The King wore a buttoned-up taupe grey suit with a tie, and his trousers rolled up at the ankle.
