Keke Palmer’s Spot-On Impersonation of Ariana Grande Cracks Fans Up
The ‘Scream Queens’ alum impersonates the ‘Wicked’ star when talking about the singer/actress’ 16th birthday party that had Patti LaBelle as a musical performer.
Ariana Grande‘s 16th birthday party apparently left a lasting impression on Keke Palmer. The two-time Emmy winner has recalled her time attending the former Nickelodeon star’s birthday bash in 2009 and couldn’t help impersonating Ariana in the process.
In a new episode of her “Baby, this is Keke Palmer” podcast, the “Nope” actress revealed that she was left baffled by Ariana’s decision to have Patti LaBelle perform at her 16th birthday party. “When I went to her 16th birthday party – huge birthday party, very dramatic – homegirl was on stage singing with Patti LaBelle,” she told her guest.
“So she has always been…,” Keke continued, before mimicking the “Wicked” star who introduced the “Lady Marmalade” hitmaker, ” ‘Ladies and gentlemen, Patti LaBelle.’ ” The “Scream Queens” alum added, “Girl, you’re 16. Why is Patti LaBelle performing at your goddamn birthday party, boo. You know what I mean.”
After a clip of the episode was reposted on Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter, fans shared their reactions to Keke’s impersonation of Ariana. “why she sound just like her im cryinn,” one amused user wrote. Another echoed the sentiment, writing, “SHE SOUNDED JUST LIKE HER LMFAOOO.”
A third agreed as saying, “Her impersonations are always on point.” A fourth weighed in, “and that’s exactly how she sounded back then.” A fifth expressed their surprise at how Keke sounded exactly like Ariana, exclaiming, “Holy s**t I thought Ariana did a voiceover for a sec-.” Someone else added, “honestly the best ari impression i’ve heard her and ari ironically are the best at impersonations.”
Ariana has not responded to Keke’s impersonation of her. The “Side to Side” songstress herself is known for her knack to impersonate fellow celebrities, such as Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Gwen Stefani, which she recently showcased during her appearance in an October 12 episode of “Saturday Night Live“.
