After trailing by 2-0, the Chicago Sky answered back the Indiana Fever in their third regular season meet. A big chunk of credit certainly goes to their rookie, Angel Reese. The 88-87 victory in the home arena boosted her confidence, which made her call herself the “dog” in the sport.

During a post-game interview, while discussing what motivated her to perform outstandingly, Reese said “I’m a dog, you can’t teach that.”

The forward dropped a double-double to help the team secure their much-needed win against her on-court rival Caitlin Clark and her Fever team. Reese’s 25 points and 16 rebounds were the highest contribution by any player on Sunday. Clark displayed her brilliance, too, with 17 points and 13 assists, but Reese stole the show this time.

The Fever had a sloppy start in the opening quarter but showed up in the following two. By the end of the third quarter, they were leading by eight points but couldn’t defend it. The Sky cut the deficit in the final quarter and snatched the lead.

Reese has been impressing basketball enthusiasts with her remarkable scoring abilities. On Sunday, she set her personal best record of eight consecutive double-doubles, making her no less special than her NCAA rival, Clark.

Yes, the two have had a difficult relationship on the court. Many have even pointed their fingers at her because of their alleged feud. After the game, she shared her take on their rivalry.

Angel Reese on Caitlin Clark’s Rivalry

The obvious question in the interview was the alleged rift between the two rookies, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.

The former LSU forward dodged the question by repeating Clark’s words that she views it as “just competition.” Then Reese changed her track and added, “I mean, they still got us, they are one up on us. So I’m just happy for the team. And I want to make it about us. Chicago, they came out tonight, so I’m just happy for us.”

The Fever have secured 7 wins this season, whereas this was the sixth win for the Sky though they played fewer games. Nevertheless, a game between Reese and Clark is always a joy to watch because of the exceptional quality both of them bring on the hardwood.
