Taylor Swift’s book disappointed fans because of spelling errors
“If you paid $40 for a book, you wouldn’t think it had so many spelling errors,” one fan shared on TikTok.
According to The Independent, Taylor Swift is currently being criticized by fans for having too many grammatical errors and low quality images in her latest book.
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Book has been on sale at US Target supermarkets since Friday (November 29). Fans were very excited and posted their joy on TikTok when they bought this book. However, not all videos are fun. A fan named Emily, who woke up at 5 a.m. Friday morning to go to Target, shared that the $40 book did not meet expectations.
High price but low quality
In her video, Emily pointed out “grammatical errors, low-quality images, and even design errors” in the book. Fans even call this “the book about the error tour” (Errors instead of Eras).

Emily shares some very “egregious” errors by zooming in on a page about Swift’s 2017 album Reputation. In this piece, Swift wrote about what fans often do at her concerts. “Every night, before the music starts… the crowd screams ‘one, two, three, let’s go'”.
In the next sentence, Swift writes that this is “an Eras tradition that she looks forward to every night”.
Emily chimed in: “Why do we use ‘every night’ in two sentences in a row? It doesn’t sound good. It’s lazy writing.”
Emily also zoomed in on a major typo, which listed one of Swift’s surprise songs on tour. Instead of saying “I’m trying” to include a song from her 2020 album Folklore, the page says “I’m rying.”
Emily later looked through a series of photos from the tour and commented, “People often flatten these expensive books just to see some of the book photos on the sidelines, because that would break the spines.” . Emily also criticized some of Swift’s photos that looked like they were “taken with an iPhone” or were “quite blurry and grainy”.
Although this fan shared some highlights from the book, such as a “behind the scenes” look at Swift’s tour, Emily questioned why a $40 book would have so many errors such grammar.
“If you pay $40 for a book, you don’t expect it to be error-free. You also don’t expect the image to be covered by the back of the neck, to be of such low quality and not as sharp,” Emily shared.
The fan added: “I don’t know what happened, I don’t know if the problem is progress or not. The grammatical errors I discovered should have been corrected immediately.”
Emily even asserted that the book should have been properly edited before publication.
Many fans are disappointed
“I made this video with love but also with general frustration on many issues; These problems could easily be fixed with just more careful editing. This book has so much potential and just needs a little editing to be perfect,” Emily wrote.
The video quickly went viral with more than 800,000 views on TikTok. In the comments section, many people agreed with Emily’s comments and admitted that they were disappointed with how the book turned out.
“As an editor, I get goosebumps with all the problems. 100% waste of money,” one person commented. While another joked: “The book is like a high school yearbook.”
“For $40, all photos must be HQ 4K quality and we have never seen them… Why are there so many photos that have already been released and are from the movie Eras Tour????” a third fan said.
Some others believe that the book should not be released before the tour ends, on December 8.
“I really feel like they could have waited and released good work after the Eras Tour ended,” one user shared.
