Seth Rogen clears up rumors about Emma Watson’s alleged exit from his film set, expressing regret about not accommodating the actress.

Seth Rogen is a literal genius when it comes to the comedy genre. An actor, filmmaker, and stand-up comedian, his career trajectory is inspirational in many ways. Not only has he made several tear-jerking, roaring-with-laughter comedies, but he has also apparently made Emma Watson ‘storm off’ the set in anger.

A rumor that spread like wildfire after the Harry Potter star had a cameo in his star-laced flick, This is the End, Rogen later had to clarify that this was not entirely the case.

Seth Rogen‘s This is the End is an outlandish apocalyptic fantasy comedy film, co-written, co-directed, and co-produced by Seth Rogen himself. Starring an ensemble cast, the film centers on the fictionalized versions of these celebrities who are caught in an apocalypse in Los Angeles.

Throughout the film, several other stars make cameos (as themselves of course), adding more charm to the already alluring narrative. One of the scenes in the film features Emma Watson appearing as herself. It is during the events leading up to her scenes that the Harry Potter star apparently stormed off the set after not being happy with the way a particular scene was supposed to be shot.

Later, in an interview with GQ, Rogen was asked about this incident and he replied,

I mean, I don’t look back on that and think, ‘How dare she do that?’ You know? I think sometimes when you read something, when it comes to life it doesn’t seem to be what you thought it was. But it was not some terrible ending to our relationship. She came back the next day to say goodbye. She helped promote the film. No hard feelings and I couldn’t be happier with how the film turned out in the end.

Although he remarked that Watson was right in not shooting the outlandish scene the way it was supposed to be, the actor failed to clear up whether she had really stormed off the set. His statement, albeit made with no ill will, garnered a controversy, which Rogen was forced to clear up.

Seth Rogen’s This is the End was genuinely audacious and far-reaching, but it was its unapologetic theme set in the middle of a biblical apocalypse that made it a fun ride. While everything played out well with the film, the rumors of Emma Watson not being happy with Rogen impacted him and his film negatively.

His statement made to GQ, which did not in fact dispel the rumor that the Beauty and the Beast star had stormed off the set, did nothing to help the film. Thus, the comedian had to take to the social media site, X (formerly Twitter), to come clean about what went down behind the scenes.

This time clearly explaining that Watson did not leave the set in anger, Rogen added that the actress was in no way unprofessional. Accepting his mistake that she was put in an uncomfortable position, he expressed regret that he did not do more to accommodate her. While Emma Watson has not yet addressed the situation, Seth Rogen stepped in at the right time to dispel the rumor, effectively quelling any potential controversy that could have arisen from it.
