The hockey world can’t seem to catch a break recently, as another death has occurred.
Andrzej Hachula has passed away at the age of 64 years old. The Polish born player had a 27-year career in hockey, playing on various teams in Poland and Germany.
Hachula started off his professional career having 13 points in four games on the Polish U20 team. The first team he played for was the Naprzod Janow, and he had 28 goals and 16 assists, tallying up to 44 points in 42 games.

He’d then continue playing hockey and moved to Germany after a decade in Poland. He spent the last seven years of his hockey career on the REV Bremerhaven of the Germany 3 league. In his first season with REV Bremerhaven, he’d tally 57 points in 35 games along with 30 goals, proving furthermore that he was a goal scoring machine. In the 1994-95 season, Hachula would put up 100 points in 45 games with 38 goals and 62 assists. Andrzej would play his last season in 1996-97, but only had 22 points in 44 games, which was off track for him.
At the end of his career with all of his stats added up, in all the leagues he’s played in and all the teams he’s played for, he was over a 1.5 PPG player in all of them.
Even though Hachula didn’t make it overseas and play in the NHL, he’s still a respected player and the people who got to watch him play were very lucky.
Rest in peace.
