Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks tonight selected defenseman Artyom Levshunov with the second overall pick during tonight’s NHL draft out of Michigan State of the NCAA.

Levshunov, 18 years old, born in the country of Belarus, has the upside to be the Blackhawks future #1 defenseman. He can play on both sides of the ice and is very quick. His right-handed shot makes him even more of a threat, as he can whip it from anywhere on the ice.

Why Blackhawks felt Artyom Levshunov was right choice at No. 2 overall

Artyom played in all 38 of Michigan State’s games this year and had nine goals and 26 assists, totaling up to 35 points.

Artyom’s personality is slowly growing on Blackhawks fans, as he was so excited he couldn’t contain himself, and the microphone while talking to Leah Hextall of ESPN.

Welcome to Chicago, Artyom!
