Actor Emilia Clarke, who plays G’iah the Super-Skrull on Secret Invasion, is simply over the moon about her stunt filming experience.
Emilia Clarke, Secret Invasion’s latest all-powerful superhero G’iah, has broken the silence on what it felt like to film all the stunts for the series’ climactic finale.
Marvel.com has recently posted a June interview with Clarke where she got to share what her Marvel journey as G’iah had been like. The Secret Invasion star admitted that she had “the most amount of fun” filming the fight scene between Gravik and G’iah, noting that she had especially enjoyed all the stunt work she had to perform.
The scene Clarke was referring to is the one in Episode 6 “Home” of Marvel’s Secret Invasion where Gravik and G’iah absorb all the existing superhero powers (including Captain Marvel’s) during the Harvest, which leads them to become Super-Skrulls. The two allies-turned-enemies confront each other in a fight and try to take each other down in the air, with G’iah eventually overpowering and killing Gravik.
Clarke particularly loved the part when she had to be “on the wires” to appear as if she was flying in the scene, saying, “There was a part of this fight where I was on a [stunt] chariot. Then I was doing all the running, but I wasn’t actually running. I was on a chariot, which was being pulled by a car. And then my favorite bit is they put me on the wires!” Apparently, the Secret Invasion actress couldn’t get enough of flying as the stunt team reportedly “couldn’t get [her] out of [the wires].”

She called that whole experience her “best day ever,” adding that the reason she enjoyed it so much was that she was quite a fan of the adrenaline rush. Clarke mentioned, “I’m a theme park-riding kind of gal. Give me a trapeze. Give me a roller coaster. It felt exactly like that. I just kept giggling. I couldn’t stop giggling. It was genuinely the funnest day I’ve ever had on set – ever, ever, ever.”
However, not every sequence of the final fight scene was as fun as flying on the wires. Clarke also had to “strike a superhero pose” after her character punched Gravik. Although the bit in question looked impressive on the screen, the Secret Invasion star thought that the jumping motion was rather uncomfortable. She elaborated, “You just stand there, and then you got to exit the screen. You’re like, well, I actually can’t fly. And I’m not attached to the wires right now, so I’m just going to have to do the dumbest thing ever and just look really mean. And then jump. That’s exactly it. The biggest anticlimactic move. You’ve been building up. Been doing all the nasty talk. And then you just hop.” Still, the move was not so bad since Clarke did consider the filming day her “best” one yet.
