Connor McDavid and Lauren Kyle went to Elks game with Leon Draisaitl and Celeste Desjardins

Earlier on Saturday, Connor McDavid and Lauren attended a CFL game featuring the Edmonton Elks with his on-ice partner Leon Draisaitl and his fiancee Celeste Desjardins. The CFL also posted about their attendance, calling them “hockey sensations.”

McDavid recently shared his thoughts about living in Edmonton, praising the city’s convenience and stress-free lifestyle despite its less-than-ideal weather. After preseason practice last week, McDavid opened up on the positive sides of the city.

“It’s not the beach, and it’s not beautiful weather all the time, but we’re here to play hockey, and we’re here to be a part of something, and I think guys want to do that, I think for people that haven’t experienced Edmonton; it’s really easy living,” McDavid said.

“There’s no hour’s drive, there’s no traffic – although the construction could be better (laughs) – but it’s really convenient living. It’s easy living; stress-free living. It checks a lot of boxes for a lot of guys,” he added.

He praised the short commutes and lack of traffic that make Edmonton an easy place to call home for a professional athlete. Connor McDavid will be looking to regroup in the preseason to kickstart 2024-25 on a high note.
