Chris Brown Faces A Hefty Million-Dollar Debt For Defaulting On Popeyes Investment Loan
Chris Brown’s hitting the road again, announcing (Instagram) the North American 11:11 Tour. But things aren’t all smooth sailing for the multi-talented entertainer.
He’s in some serious money trouble. Reports say he’s staring down a whopping million-dollar debt from a bad investment in Popeyes Chicken. If he doesn’t cough up the £1.3 million soon, he could even lose his house.
A lawsuit’s been filed against him, claiming he didn’t hold up his end of the deal with the fast food chain. As per Capital Xtra, the legal document stated,
“This court may order that a writ of execution or other enforcement may issue. Your wages, money, and property could be taken without further warning from the court. If enforcement procedures have already been issued, the property levied on will not be distributed until 30 days after you are served with this notice.”
Brown hasn’t spoken out about it yet, but he’s been active on social media, slamming the NBA for uninviting him to an All-Star game over past domestic violence allegations. According to Complex, he shared,
“I was asked by the NBA to play in the all-star game this year! Only for them to call later and say they couldn’t do IT because of their sponsors like RUFFLES.”

Suge Knight’s gone after Brown for a club shooting that went down back in 2014. Yep, the former rap bigwig, Knight, slapped the singer and the owners of 1 Oak nightclub with a lawsuit. According to him, they dropped the ball on security, letting someone armed sneak into the party.
The 58-year-old got hit seven times in that shooting, but he lived to tell the tale. He’s dealing with complications, like a blood clot, from those injuries. His lawyers are saying that fear from the shooting made Knight so paranoid, that he ended up running over two guys in his car, and sadly, one of them died.
However, Knight also has a record and is a two-time convicted felon. The lawsuit doesn’t spell out how much money Knight wants, but he’s asking for his medical bills to be covered, both past and future.
The lawsuit also says 1 Oak should’ve been extra careful, especially since events hosted by Brown have a rep for turning violent. As per Billboard, it says,
“As a result of the negligence of the defendants, one or more unknown individuals were allowed access to the event with weapons, including firearms. As a foreseeable result, gunshots were fired by those admitted into the event and (Knight) was shot and seriously injured.”
While Brown’s had his share of legal troubles, there’s no evidence tying him to this shooting. It’s a real mess that’s got everyone talking, wondering if Brown’s financial woes could be part of the picture here.
