There’s been some bad actors when it comes to reports of the Chicago Blackhawks lately. Some people have put forward the idea that a player who is leading a rebuilding team, would want out of the team who drafted him.
Apparently, NHL Media is quick to take advantage of the team’s terrible start to the season
The Blackhawks are 3-6-1 after a sound defeat to the Colorado Avalanche last night. But instead of discussing how the team played, we’re discussing if Bedard wants a trade.
While Elliotte Friedman shoots down any rumors that Bedard might want out of Chicago or be growing frustrated to the point he’s unhappy there, the NHL insider did note that the team has to be thinking about keeping their superstar happy.
While the Blackhawks have some issues they need to address it seems ridiculous to spread rumors about this, when it’s patently untrue.
And the GM Kyle Davidson has said plainly that the team will be addressing their lineup down the middle.
CST’s Ben Pope has even mentioned that the plan is to upgrade the team’s center core.
Ben Pope writes, «They have 11 first+second round picks already accumulated for the next three drafts, and the 50-contract limit is eventually going to come into play given the size of the prospect pool, so those picks could be more expendable.»
So, a day that ends in Y and another day where we’re here to shoot down rumors of a Bedard trade out of Chicago.
We think he’s smart enough to know that he’s part of a rebuild, he signed a contract and has built roots in Chicago with his teammates, and the fans.
He may be frustrated, but requesting a trade during his sophomore year?
Well he’s no Cutter Gauthier really.
