It supposed to be one of their best acquisitions this past summer when the Blackhawks signed former Winnipeg Jets goaltenderLaurent Brossoit, the netminder has been absent completely from the team and appears to have another set back in his injury issues.

ANALYSIS: Kyle Davidson's work has only begun with the Blackhawks - The Rink

General manager Kyle Davidson’s plan was to reinforce his goaltending position with bro Soi who had a strong season with the Winnipeg Jets last year. It’s been documented that he had knee surgery in August and there had been some rumblings that he had been suffering setbacks in his recovery.

News broke this week that his timeline will be delayed yet again as he continues to suffer setbacks in his recovery from his surgery. The uncertainty is tough on the team and it appears that head coach Luke Richardson will not even offer an idea of when Brossoit will suit up for the Blackhawks this season.

Brossoit Had signed A2 year deal with the Blackhawks that was worth $6.6 million with a cap hit of 3.3 million AAV. He currently sits on injured reserve as his salary will count due to the fact that the Blackhawks need to be above the cap floor. The team has been getting by quite well with the tandem of Peter Mrazek and Arvid Soderblom.

Given their recent success and solid work by Soderblom, the Blackhawks appeared to be in no rush for bro swatter returned to the lineup and allow him to recover fully as he prepares to either play later this season or be shut down and play for next season.

The Blackhawks will be on the road as they head to the West Coast and will take on the Seattle cracking on Thursday November 14th. Game time will be 10:00 PM eastern.
