Caitlin Clark drops priceless reaction after nearly hitting fans at Annika pro-am event(Source: Imagn)
Caitlin Clark was back in the spotlight on Wednesday as she played at The Annika, an LPGA pro-am tournament held in Florida. Clark had an iffy start when she almost hit a spectator in her first swing. The Indiana Fever reacted to the viral swing on social media.
One of the fans in attendance was filming Clark’s tee off when the first swing happened. The fan had to duck his head as the ball went into the water. The Fever star saw the post and commented on it a couple of times:
“I’m so real.”
“This is the greatest video ever.”
Caitlin Clark shrugged off the iffy start and swung another, which was much better. Clark even joked to the fans that she could’ve given them her shoes if she accidentally hit anyone of them.
The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year is seemingly making strides in her offseason plans of turning into a pro golfer. She is yet to confirm her participation in the Unrivaled league, co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier.
Clark’s teammates Lexie Hull and Aliyah Boston have already been announced as part of the league’s 36-player roster. There are six players still waiting to be revealed and league president Alex Bazzell is just waiting for the Fever guard to accept their offer.
“We’re always going to have a roster spot for Caitlin Clark,” Bazzell told Sportico. “We’re not applying a full court press the way people think. We are letting her decompress from basketball. … She knows that we have a spot for her when she’s ready.”
Clark spent her offseason training for her appearance at The Annika, while also going back to Iowa for a reunion with her former teammates. She even attended Taylor Swift’s concert in Indianapolis to start November.

Caitlin Clark played 18 holes of golf at The Annika on Wednesday, being paired with legend Nelly Korda on the front nine. Korda was replaced by Annika Sorenstam for the back nine, while Dan Towriss and Jason Rickard were with them the entire time.
Speaking to the LPGA after the game, Clark was happy with her performance and was surprised to see a lot of her supporters there. She thanked event sponsors Gainbridge, who made it possible for her to be there. The insurance company is a major partner of the Indiana Pacers and Fever.
“It was so fun,” Clark said. “Getting to see (Nelly and Annika) do what they do up front, people would pay for that. I got to do it for free and have fun with them. Definitely a fun morning. I feel very thankful that Gainbridge had me out here. Obviously, their support of women’s sports is tremendous, very lucky and fortunate. Hung in there, did alright. It was a good day.”
It will interesting to see what’s next for Clark since the next WNBA season won’t start until May. Unrivaled is scheduled to start in January, so she has plenty of time to make up her mind.
