Bridgerton’s Claudia Jessie Debuts New Role Alongside Ed Sheeran

Bridgerton star Claudia Jessie stars as Ed Sheeran’s onscreen girlfriend in the music video for his new song “Under the Tree,” which was inspired by Richard Curtis’ forthcoming film That Christmas.

Dearest readers, Claudia Jessie was spotted making a stop in another ton.

The Bridgerton star—who plays Eloise Bridgerton on the hit Netflix series—made her debut in Ed Sheeran‘s Nov. 26 music video for his new song, “Under the Tree.”

In the holiday-themed visuals, Claudia plays the role of Ed’s ex-girlfriend, whom he wishes was still in his life. After replaying happy memories of them enjoying hot cocoa by the fire, shopping for gifts and decorating a Christmas tree together, she shows up at his home and the pair are reunited.

And while the plot of the video—which was filmed to coincide with the release of Richard Curtis’ upcoming animated movie, That Christmas—was kept under wraps until its release, Claudia and Ed previously hinted that they would be joining forces. In fact, earlier this week, the Grammy winner shared a behind-the-scenes look at the duo working on the project.

In the clip shared to TikTok Nov. 25, Claudia—rocking the same turtleneck sweater she wore in the video—mouthed along to a voiceover from Bridgerton while standing outside. And behind her, Ed—clad in a flannel, joggers and sneakers—jumped on a trampoline.

Captioning the funny moment, the “Shape of You” singer wrote, “Hands up who watches Bridgerton.”

But Claudia’s appearance in “Under the Tree” isn’t the only reason that the song is so special to Ed. He’s also really proud to have written a track for a movie that his and wife Cherry Seaborn‘s daughters—Lyra, 4, and Jupiter, 2—can enjoy.

“Having kids, I struggle to find great, great movies for very young kids to watch at Christmas,” Ed told Digital Spy in an interview published Nov. 26, “and this ticks all the boxes.”

“Hope everyone loves the song,” the 33-year-old added. “The movie is called That Christmas and it’s out December 4 on Netflix. My family and I love it. Yours will too.”
