The Toronto Maple Leafs will look to advance in the Atlantic Division standings by building on a two-game win streak as they face off against the St. Louis Blues tonight. While the Maple Leafs are heading into tonight’s game with plenty of momentum, the Blues will aim to snap a three-game losing streak that sees them sitting tied for fifth place in the Central Division.
Ahead of the game, the Maple Leafs will be without several key players. In addition to the absence of Dakota Mermis and Calle Jarnkrok who are both on the long-term injured reserve list, they will also be without Jani Hakanpaa and Connor Dewar.
Hakanpaa is working his way back from a knee injury, while Dewar is coming off a shoulder injury and is on assignment in the AHL.

Looking at the Maple Leafs’ two-game win streak and upcoming games
The story of the season for the Toronto Maple Leafs has been streaks. The team went on a three-game win streak early in the season, before suffering a three-game skid.
They now have a two-game win streak, including a big 6-4 road win over the Winnipeg Jets on Monday. When the Leafs returned home on Thursday, they were able to pick up a 4-1 win against the Seattle Kraken to bring their season record to 6-4-1.
The Leafs are in third place in the Atlantic Division behind the Florida Panthers and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Following tonight’s road game in St. Louis, the team will close out a two-game road trip with a game against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.
The Toronto Maple Teams will then play their next four games at home, facing the Bruins on Tuesday, the Red Wings on Friday, the Habs on Oct. 9 and the Senators on Oct. 12.
