A devastating update from the Calgary Flames on forward Anthony Mantha who is done for the season.
The Calgary Flames have announced some devastating news.
According to an official announcement on Monday, Flames forward Anthony Mantha will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 National Hockey League regular season. Mantha was placed on injured reserve last week but I don’t believe that anyone saw this coming, with it now being revealed that Mantha has suffered an extremely serious injury.
According to the announcement, Mantha will now have to undergo surgery on his ACL with that surgery scheduled to take place on Thursday of this week. Despite the fact that we do not yet know the results of that surgery, the Flames are already ruling him out for the entire season.
That is very unfortunate news for the Flames as Mantha was having a decent start to the season with 4 goals and 3 assists for a total of 7 points. He had 11 penalty minutes to his name and a plus minus rating of +6 on the season as well.
Mantha last played on November 5th against the Montreal Canadiens and only logged 5 minutes and 6 seconds of ice time. He would leave the game after taking a hit behind the Canadiens net from Canadiens forward Emil Heineman, a hit that honestly didn’t look like much of anything at the time.

A huge blow for the Flames who were off to a good start this season despite relatively low expectations coming into it, with the team currently tied for third place in the NHL’s Pacific Division.
