The Hockey Community can’t seem to get a break, , as today we have another loss to announce. A student from Massapequa High School in New York passed away tragically at 17.
A high-school student named Connor Kasin passed away during a Charity Hockey Game at the Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center.
Kassin would lose consciousness during intermission of the hockey game, and officials would step in and administer CPR. The first responders who arrived would take over the situation, and Kassin would be transported to the hospital.
Massapequa High School would release this statement after Kassin tragically lost his life:
“It is heartbreaking to report that Connor did not survive. His passing is devastating to the Massapequa community, and we offer our deepest condolences to Connor’s family and friends.”
“It is with profound sorrow that I inform you of the tragic loss of one of our beloved Massapequa High School students, Connor Kasin,” Brennan said. “Connor was a cherished member of our school community, known for his kindness, positivity, enthusiasm, and big smile. He had a way of bringing light and joy to those around him, and his absence will be felt deeply by all of us.”
Massapequa High School would communicate after some confusion happened after the incident:
“It is with saddened hearts that we inform you of the passing of a 12th-grade student. He experienced a sudden medical event during a varsity ice hockey game last night and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. It is heartbreaking to report that he did not survive.”
The Senior would tragically pass away despite the best efforts in administrating first aid. Kassin was held in high regard as a great friend and teammate to those who shared the ice with him as a member of the Long Island Sharks.
