Christmas came early for kids present at The Boys and Girls Club of Miami-Dade’s annual toy drive organized on Tuesday by former Yankees star Alex Rodriguez. The former MVP, who learned baseball at the facility and is presently a board member, arrived in style with his daughter, Natasha, through a helicopter that landed at the Hank Kline Club.

At the club, A-Rod met with his first baseball coach on top of other kids who took home gifts. On Wednesday, the former infielder posted a series of photos from the event where A-Rod and Natasha can be seen enjoying themselves among the kids, bringing smiles to their faces at the event.

He also added a caption, talking about his feelings of giving back to society.

“What a wonderful day at the @bgca_clubs Miami-Dade’s Annual Holiday Toy Drive. I grew up at this club and to come back every year to give back to kids just like me brings be so much joy. This year was extra special to be with Eddie aka “El Gallo” who was my first baseball coach and my daughter @thenatasharodriguez ❤️,” he wrote in the caption.

Alex Rodriguez went on to achieve many great things after starting to learn baseball from The Boys and Girls Club of Miami-Dade. Despite being renowned and accomplished, he doesn’t forget where he comes from and gives back by organizing such heartwarming drives for children.

“Well, it’s great, because I was one of these kids, and there wasn’t a lot of presents under my Christmas tree when I was 10, 11, 12 years old, so the fact that they all walk away with a nice gift is something to feel proud (about),” Rodriguez said.

“A lot of our kids and our families go through tough times throughout the year, so this is the one time we get to celebrate with them and actually provide some gifts, or provide a big party, just provide a great experience for them.”

At the event, hundreds of kids arrived with their parents and guardians participating in fun activities.
