Adele has been open about the fact that she will never be a ‘gym bunny’ – but that hasn’t stopped the singer from overhauling her lifestyle and shedding a whopping seven stone

The London-born singer shed an impressive seven stone over the course of about two years, and this transformation has not only changed her physical appearance but also her mindset.
A close friend revealed: “There’s a lot to do with her weight loss that has really changed her life, but it’s so much more than that.” Adele, who insisted on losing weight for herself and no one else, began by improving her diet in 2012.
To protect her voice, she first gave up her daily 10 cups of sugary tea and said farewell to alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine and all “spicy, citrusy, and tangy” foods.
Speaking to Australia’s 60 Minutes about her 2011 vocal hemorrhage, she confessed: “It’s f***ing boring, but I don’t think you take your voice seriously until you’ve had an accident. I’m frightened all the time I’m going to damage my voice.”
In 2016, she lost even more weight in preparation for her tour to “get some stamina”. By 2017, it was believed she had lost over two stone, reportedly due to adopting The Sirtfood Diet. This diet encourages followers to consume plant-based foods like kale, buckwheat, green tea and turmeric.

The foods, known as sirtuin activators, are believed to control how the body processes fat and sugar while simultaneously regulating appetite. Included in the diet are green tea and cocoa powder, as well as red wine and cheese, reports the Mirror.
“The Sirtfood Diet is all about losing weight and feeling fantastic through eating great-tasting food,” an insider revealed to the Daily Mail. “It’s based on extensive research into the power of key plant foods, which when added to our diet turn on fat burning and improve wellbeing.”

To enhance her health further, the singer has revamped her fitness routine.
The third step in her transformation involved hiring LA-based ‘body wizard’ pilates instructor Camila Goodis, who also trains Piers Morgan’s wife Celia Walden. Camila was introduced to Adele by Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field and has noted that although Adele is down-to-earth, she wasn’t always keen on exercise.
Speaking to The Sun, Camila said: “I trained Ayda for a long time and it happens that they are good friends so I did Adele when she was there in Robbie’s house.
“I don’t believe she liked exercise much but she has changed her lifestyle and I believe that 90 per cent was dieting.”
Despite her commitment, Adele has candidly shared that she isn’t fond of gym sessions. “I mainly moan. I’m not, like, skipping to the f-cking gym. I don’t enjoy it,” she confessed to Rolling Stone in 2016.
“I do like doing weights. I don’t like looking in the mirror. Blood vessels burst on my face really easily, so I’m so conscious when I’m lifting weights not to let them burst in my face. And if I don’t tour, you’ll catch me back down at the Chinese!”
