Leon Draisaitl’s sister Kim marries German field hockey star Niklas Wellen (via Instagram/@drat_29)
Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl on Tuesday shared a post on his Instagram to wish his sister Kim well on her wedding. Kim is getting married to Niklas Wellen, a German field hockey star.
Niklas and Kim also have a son, who was seen having fun with Leon Draisaitl and his fiancée Celeste Desjardins.
Draisaitl posted a picture of Kim and Niklas in their wedding outfits. Niklas wore a navy blue tuxedo while Kim was in her white wedding dress. In one picture, she was seen with her father Peter Draisaitl walking her down the aisle.
Leon Draisaitl’s offseason and teammate Connor McDavid’s wedding celebrations
Leon Draisaitl spent the offseason with family and friends. He attended team captain Connor McDavid’s wedding in Muskoka, Ontario, with his fiancée, Celeste Desjardins.
Desjardins shared moments from the wedding on Instagram. In one story, she mentioned going to France with Lauren Kyle to look at venues but didn’t share details.
At McDavid’s wedding, Draisaitl and Desjardins enjoyed the celebrations and were seen dancing and embracing. Draisaitl, McDavid’s close friend and teammate, seemed to be one of the most enthusiastic guests, helping lift Lauren Kyle during the afterparty.
McDavid and Kyle are close to Draisaitl and Desjardins. The two couples also went on a double date after the wedding weekend to celebrate Draisaitl and Desjardins’ engagement. McDavid said he didn’t give Draisaitl advice on his proposal but expressed happiness for him.
Leon Draisaitl proposed to Celeste Desjardins
Leon Draisaitl is spending the offseason with family and friends. He proposed to his girlfriend Celeste in Mallorca, Spain, in June, and the two announced their engagement on July 10. Desjardins wrote on Instagram:
“The easiest yes. I love you forever.”
The engagement party, held at a beachside resort, included their families.
Draisaitl also spent time with his nephew and shared a photo on Instagram of him feeding his nephew, captioned, “My guy❤️.” Celeste also posted pictures from the day, showing them with their nephew.
