LA Dodgers fans were excited to learn about the encouraging update of Shohei Ohtani from manager Dave Roberts. The two-way star suffered a shoulder injury in Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday but is cleared to appear in Game 3 on Monday at Yankee Stadium.

On Sunday, while talking to reporters on Ohtani’s availability for the upcoming Game 3, Roberts assured that the slugger should be in the lineup.

“He’s in a great spot. He’s playing tomorrow,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told ESPN’s Karl Ravech. “If he feels good enough to go, I see no reason why he wouldn’t be in (the lineup).”

Learning about the development, Dodgers fans were excited after initially fearing the worst about Shohei Ohtani.

“Yankees fans and the east coast is in shambles right now,” one fan commented.

“The is great news. The WS needs Ohtani playing,” another wrote.

“Happy to see he’s healthy, sad we gotta still deal with him in the lineup,” one Yankees fan wrote.

One fan wants Shohei Ohtani, who stole 59 bases on the year, to stop doing so in this series so as to avoid injury.

“Thank goodness 😅. No more stealing bases unless it’s absolutely needed please.”

“That’s huge! Ohtani’s a game changer!,” another wrote.

“Great news for Dodgers fans! Ohtani’s return in Game 3 boosts the team’s chances in the World Series,” one user posted.

What happened to Shohei Ohtani?

In the seventh inning of Game 2, Shohei Ohtani’s attempt to steal a base saw him sliding to the base. However, his left arm slammed onto the ground while doing so, leading to his shoulder getting injured and getting pulled out of the game.

Immediately, the Dodgers training staff went to the field as the slugger looked in a lot of pain and fans fearing the worst. At the time, the Dodgers were leading the game 4-1.

A Japanese media outlet also caught Ohtani to be saying that his shoulder had popped out. However, the latest update from Roberts is relieving for fans who want to see the Dodgers take a 3-0 lead on Monday.
