The 2024 MLB Little League Classic is on Sunday and will feature the New York Yankees taking on the Detroit Tigers. Ahead of the event, the YES Network compiled pictures of Yankees stars in their Little League days, and it posted the clip on X.

Featuring Aaron Judge, Austin Wells, DJ LeMahieu, Marcus Stroman and also manager Aaron Boone, the pictures provide an insight into the humble beginnings of some of the team’s biggest stars.

Catcher Austin Wells’ journey began in Arizona, as he played in the little league in Scottsdale. Marcus Stroman was closer to his current home, beginning his play in Medford, New York. Aaron Judge, DJ LeMahieu and Aaron Boone are all California natives, spending their early days on the West Coast.

Aaron Judge hits 44th home run as Yankees win in Detroit

The New York Yankees beat the Detroit Tigers 3-0 in the opening game of the three-game series at Comerica Park on Friday. Ace Gerrit Cole’s latest outing on the mound proved successful as the hosts were shut out by the visitors, who only needed three to get the job done in what was a low-scoring affair.

A few days after making major league history by becoming the fastest player with his 300th homer, Aaron Judge went and got another in Detroit. The Yanks’ captain hit another trademark blast to center field in the top of the 8th to seal a comfortable night for the visitors. The Yankees’ number 99 now has 44 home runs for the season, along with a .332 batting average and 111 RBIs.

However, the Tigers returned the favor as they shut out the Bombers in a 4-0 win on Saturday.

With the series tied at one game apiece, the two teams will play the rubber game on Sunday. Tigers ace and Cy Young award candidate Tarik Skubal will take to the mound in what promises to be a stern test for the New York offense on Sunday.

The Yanks are one game ahead of the Baltimore Orioles for the lead in the American League East.
