On Sunday, Rangers walked Judge with Juan Soto also on the base. For this game, designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton was pencilled in as clean-up hitter, and he delivered to perfection. Stanton smoked a 405-foot massive three-run home run in the fifth inning to extend Yanks lead to 5-0.

Giancarlo Stanton finished with a four-RBI night and helped the New York Yankees survive a narrow 8-7 victory. Having said that, Stanton reacted to the Barry Bonds treatment hurled at Aaron Judge and opined that it’s a part of the game. He acknowledged that Judge is an all-time great talent, and it’s only natural for the rival pitchers to feel intimidated. “I gotta do what happened today in order for it not to happen. It’s part of the game. You have some fun with it,” Stanton added. Notably, the slugger entered an elite list of players with his 405-foot bomb. He is only the 10th MLB slugger to have hit 20+ home runs in exactly 13 major league seasons. It’s indeed a positive sign for the Bronx Bombers to see Stanton thriving after returning from a serious hamstring injury. And his resurgence is coming at the right time as the Yanks are making a final push to playoffs.
