Tony Yayo Weighs In on Dr. Dre’s Bold Claim: Eminem as the Best Emcee Ever and His Impact on Hip-Hop

Tony Yayo reacts to Dr. Dre’s huge praise for Eminem.

Tony Yayo recently made an appearance on DJ Vlad’s VLADTV for a new interview. During the conversation, the rapper was asked about Dr. Dre crowning Eminem as the greatest rapper to touch the mic.

“Eminem is in my top 5. I don’t give a f–k what anybody says,” he says. “I love lyrics and he has lyrics. And I like numbers too. Numbers don’t lie. They say ‘I don’t listen Eminem in the car,’ well, somebody do… He’s one of the GOATs.”

He continued, “I agree to Dr. Dre saying Eminem is the best emcee ever. Let’s go back to what Eminem and G-Unit did as a rap label. We had a dream team. In the hip-hop world, he’s the biggest artist in the worldwide.”

Earlier this year, Dre made an appearance on The Life of Mine with James Corden, where the rap veteran reflected on his longtime relation with Eminem. “I think he’s the best emcee ever. Point blank, period,” said Dre. “Of course, there are going to be arguments about that because he’s a white guy. I don’t think anyone that’s rapping can touch Eminem on that microphone.”

He then recalled meeting Eminem for the first time at Jimmy Iovine’s Office and recording ‘My Name Is’ during their first time together in the studio. “I met Eminem at Jimmy Iovine’s office,” he reveals. “We slapped hands, went to the studio and started recording and I’m not sure if anybody knows this, but I think the first four albums was just me and him and his writing and his delivery and his imagination is off the charts and I don’t think anyone would disagree with that.”
