Once upon a time, a humorous and unexpected interaction occurred between Snoop Dogg and Michael Jackson at a lavish party in Las Vegas in May 2008, commemorating fashion designer Christian Audigier’s birthday. Both iconic figures were present, delivering performances that captivated the crowd.
However, fate had an interesting twist in store – his dressing room shared a wall with none other than the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson.
In a surprising realization, Snoop discovered the proximity of his dressing room to Michael Jackson’s. A bit shocked, he promptly opened the door and inadvertently released a plume of smoke into the hallway.
To his astonishment, Michael Jackson stood there, casting a disapproving look. With his characteristic calm demeanor, MJ advised, “Snoop, don’t do that.”
Despite the unintentional intrusion into Michael Jackson’s space, it did not sour their relationship. In a subsequent collaboration, they worked together on a song for a charitable project. Regrettably, the whereabouts of the recording remain unknown to Snoop, adding a touch of mystery to their musical connection.
In a January 2023 interview with Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning, Snoop shared more about their collaboration. He recounted a phone call from Michael in which he was asked to contribute to a healing peace song. Snoop humorously imitated Michael’s soft-spoken voice, recalling the surreal conversation where Michael mentioned, “Well, first of all, my mom says that you look like someone in my family. We could be related.” The song was intended for a project, but its ultimate destiny remains a mystery.
Later, on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, Snoop characterized the unreleased song as beautiful, affirming that “It was a healing peace song that he had made, and it never came out, but it was a beautiful record.” Although the collaboration never graced the public with its presence, it stands as a unique and unseen chapter in the musical legacies of both Snoop Dogg and Michael Jackson.
