Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes opened up about the touching moment when Taylor Swift consoled Brittany Mahomes following the Chiefs’ Christmas Day loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.

In an exclusive interview with, Mahomes shared his thoughts on what he called a “memorable moment” amidst a disappointing game for his team.

On December 25th, Swift and Brittany were spotted in the stands, supporting their respective partners as the Chiefs took on the Raiders.

The holiday spirit, however, was dampened as the Raiders shocked Kansas City with a 20-4 victory. Patrick Mahomes, who struggled throughout the game and threw a costly pick-six in the second half, was visibly upset on the sideline as the Raiders celebrated their win.

Brittany Mahomes was seen distraught after watching her husband’s challenging performance, her hands running over her face in disbelief. Swift, who has grown close to Brittany over the past year, was captured comforting her friend by gently rubbing her shoulder. The scene struck an emotional chord with fans, showing the pop star in a supportive role during a tough moment for the Mahomes family.

Mahomes acknowledged how much the loss stung, especially on a day meant for celebration. “It was a hard loss, especially on Christmas, and we didn’t play to our standards,” he admitted. However, for Mahomes, there was a silver lining. “The beautiful friendship between Taylor and Brittany really stood out to me,” he told NatFL. “Even though we lost the game, seeing Taylor comfort Brittany in that moment was special. I’m very grateful for Swift’s support and the connection she and Brittany have built.”

Mahomes also reflected on his intense emotions during the game. Known for his fiery competitive spirit, he was seen at one point voicing his frustration toward his offensive line as the Chiefs tried to break through the Raiders’ defense. “It was one of those moments where fans got to see another side of me — one where my competitive drive comes through even stronger,” Mahomes explained.
