Ace Gerrit Cole bounced back from a shaky Game 1 performance, delivering a strong seven-inning outing that held the Royals to just one run. Cole’s effort, paired with key RBI singles from Juan Soto, Gleyber Torres, and Giancarlo Stanton, propelled the Bombers to win the best-of-five series with a 3-1 lead. Besides, the Yanks’ bullpen continued its impressive postseason form, with Clay Holmes and Luke Weaver closing out the game to extend the bullpen’s scoreless streak to 15.2 innings. “Fired up. Had a couple IPAs with the boys, spraying some champagne. This is the greatest,” Cole said.

Notably, Game 4 saw tensions rise in the sixth inning when a hard tag by Anthony Volpe on Maikel Garcia led to benches clearing, though no further incidents occurred. Despite a late Royals rally with a Vinnie Pasquantino RBI double, Cole retired Salvador Perez to end the threat.
