While the highly anticipated collaboration between LL Cool J and Eminem, “Murdergram Deux”, was recently leaked online before its official release, LL isn’t shy about his disappointment. He addressed the leak, calling it “terrible”.
Yes, LL Cool J himself confirmed it’s the real deal, but he is frustrated because it is not the version he wanted floating around.
We remember that in 2023, LL Cool J came back to promote his upcoming album, which was produced by Q-Tip. It felt like the release date was around the corner, but the roll-out was suddenly shut down. That’s when a snippet of Eminem’s collab with LL surfaced, just to appear in full a year later. No wonder many fans were excited, considering it could be a track LL Coll J was talking about ten years ago, in 2014.
So, “Murdergram Deux” was out to the disdain of some and the joy of others. Those who listened to the leak agreed that the track was absolute fire and had to be released officially because it’s a shame to hide such a gem from the world. A sliver of the audience refused to believe the track’s authenticity and suggested that it might be Al-generated content.
So, Radio Raymond T asked LL Cool J about that. Despite his frustration, LL confirmed a few key points: the leak is real. “Murdergram Deux” is a genuine collaboration between him and Eminem. But the leaked snippet isn’t the finished version of the song. Some studio magic still needs to happen.
That’s terrible. It’s so bad. It’s not Al, but it’s not official. It’s not the right version. It’s just over the top. I don’t know why even do that. It’s like, calm down, man. They’re all just walking on in the kitchen, touching the rolls before the shit is done, all up in the pots. Keep it, the food ain’t ready. You know how your grandmother slaps your hand when you’re trying to put your hands in the pots early? That’s how I feel about this. Just cut that shit. But it is what it is. It’s not Al, it’s a real joint.
While the leak is a bummer, LL’s comments assure us that an epic Eminem collab is on the horizon. We just have to be patient and let the masters cook up something truly phenomenal.
