Coming from the 82-80 record in the 2023 MLB season, Aaron Judge led New York Yankees bounced back with the best record in the American League (94-68) this year to clinch the division and also earn a bye and home advantage for ALDS and ALCS. The first stage was successfully triumphed on Thursday in Kansas City.
New York Yankees trashed the Royals with a 3-1 final scoreline to win the ALDS and advance to the ALCS. Aaron Judge Remembers 2023 Season Failure On ALDS Triumph

A year after the New York Yankees’ season ended in disappointment at Kauffman Stadium, Aaron Judge found himself running through the same dugout with a completely different feeling. In 2023, the Bronx Bombers failed to make the playoffs, leaving the players staring at the field in disbelief. Fast forward to 2024, and Judge, drenched in champagne, was celebrating a 3-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals in Game 4 of the ALDS, which secured New York’s spot in the AL Championship Series. “Since I’ve been here with the Yankees, we haven’t secured a pennant. The group that we have, just excited for this opportunity,” Judge reflected on the team’s journey.
While Aaron Judge wasn’t the driving force in this series, as he went 2-for-13, he came through in the decisive Game 4. He doubled and scored in the sixth inning, walked twice, and even stole a base. The once-rowdy Kauffman Stadium crowd was silenced after Judge’s double, which came off his bat at 115.5 mph and helped push the Yankees closer to victory. Moreover, despite his postseason struggles, Judge stressed the importance of staying focused. “It’s about getting results. I’ll take four bloop singles at this point,” Judge said. As he looked back on the previous season, Judge acknowledged the team’s motivation, saying, “In ’23, our season ended here. I think a lot of guys took that to heart. We don’t want to feel that again.” Meanwhile, the New York Yankees are poised for their next challenge in the ALCS starting from Monday.

After the Yankees clinched their spot in the ALCS with a 3-1 victory over the Royals, the team’s celebration turned into a moment of recognition for Aaron Judge. As they headed back to the champagne-soaked clubhouse, Judge’s teammates Juan Soto, Giancarlo Stanton, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. led a chorus of “MVP” chants, showering him with praise.
Although Judge had a quieter series overall, going 2-for-13, his leadership and clutch moments were undeniable. However, despite some postseason struggles in past years, Aaron Judge has continued to be a key figure both on and off the field. Moreover, with a regular season that saw him hit 58 home runs and rack up 144 RBIs, Judge’s MVP candidacy is well-deserved, and his teammates made sure to honor him.
